Job Description
A Firefighter/Paramedic is responisble for responding to a wide range of emergency situations including fires, accidents, hazardous material spills, and medical emergencies, while performing technical rescue operations as needed. The position includes providing emergency medical treatment, operating fire apparatus, conducting routine inspections and maintenance on fire equipment, engaging in community education, and assisting with fire cause determination, all while maintaining compliance with privacy laws and departmental protocols.
Education Requirements
Graduate of the Greater St. Louis County Fire Academy, certified as Firefighter I and Il. Other schools/counties/cities
cannot be considered.
Required Certifications
Licensed Paramedic (EMT-P) in the State of Missouri. • Valid driver's license required, Emergency Vehicle Driver's
certification preferred.
• Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), or International
Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) • Must possess a valid Candidate's Physical Ability Test (CPAT) certificate, issued within the past twelve (12) months at time of
job offer to continue with pre- employment testing.
