Job Description

The Police Officer is responsible for preparing reports and documentation for investigations, arrests, and incidents, utilizing various electronic devices and systems to exchange information and maintain records. The officer safely operates a patrol vehicle under various conditions, responds to emergency calls, secures crime and accident scenes, conducts interviews, and collects evidence. The role includes enforcing motor vehicle laws, pursuing suspects, physically restraining combative individuals, and participating in ongoing training. The officer also testifies in court, participates in investigations, and assists public safety personnel with general law enforcement duties.

Education Requirements

Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED)

Required Certifications

Sworn personnel with the Crestwood Police Department must receive the proper Peace Officer
Standards and Training (POST) certification and maintain that certification while commissioned as a
Police Officer with the City of Crestwood.
