Job Description
The Public Works Technical Construction Project Manager oversees the right-of-way acquisition, utility relocation, and construction of transportation, stormwater, and public water and sewer capital improvement projects, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule adherence from planning through to project completion. Responsibilities include managing budgets, developing project scopes, conducting site visits, reviewing construction drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications, and providing oversight of subcontractor contracts and construction contract administration. The Project Manager coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, handles risk assessments, and ensures projects meet City, environmental, and construction standards while maintaining effective communication with residents, City staff, and elected officials. Additionally, the role includes preparing cost estimates, managing project tasks, attending City Council meetings, and addressing emergency situations as needed.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a project management degree like a Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM). At least five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in engineering and project management.
Required Certifications
Valid driver’s license.
