Role Description
The Crisis Negotiator is responsible for managing high-stress, high-risk situations, such as hostage or barricade incidents, by establishing communication with individuals in crisis to resolve conflicts peacefully. This role involves building rapport, assessing the situation, and utilizing negotiation techniques to de-escalate tensions and ensure the safety of all parties involved. The Crisis Negotiator works closely with law enforcement teams, coordinating strategies and providing expertise in managing emotional and psychological dynamics. Education Requirements
Complete the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training program (40 hours).
Several years of experience in a police role
